Local Café Helps Feed Homeless

Published on 26/01/2012

In today's blog post we would like to talk about a person who is helping give back to the Coolangatta community.

We just came across an article at My Daily News, about local Theresa Kellas, who owns Cinnamon Café on Griffith Road in Coolangatta and who also does a lot of amazing work for the local homeless community.
Ms Kellas uses most of the profits she gets from her business to help run her program, Agape Outreach.
Through her program, Ms Kellas helps provide meals and company to homeless people in the community every Tuesday and Wednesday night.

As well as her work with Agape Outreach, Ms Kellas also runs the Kitchen of Hard Knocks program where she teaches cooking skills to the homeless; organises fundraising events and sponsors impoverished children in the Philippines – and you thought your day was busy!

You can read more about Ms Kellas and her work by reading the My Daily News article here.

It’s great to see a local member of the community give back so much, because there are a lot of people in Coolangatta and Tweed who rely on the generosity and support offered by people like Ms Kellas.
So next time you’re in Griffith Street, stop in and buy a coffee at Cinnamon Café to help support Ms Kellas in all of the fantastic work that she does.
